Hi everyone, I'm Delegate Markheim from Fairfax County. I represent Tysons Corner, Vienna, Oakton, and parts of central Fairfax County. I'm honored to be with you today to talk about one of my bills. House Bill 1041 is a bill that I'm really passionate about. It's an opportunity for us to do something for our returning military veterans, especially those who were wounded overseas. My bill proposes a $500 tax credit for every new veteran that's been hired by a company right here in Virginia. We want to make sure that our returning heroes have a place to work. Additionally, we offer a $1000 tax credit for disabled veterans, those who really paid their sacrifice overseas. We want to make sure that we're here to take care of them and their families. This is a bill that I believe all of us, Republicans, Democrats, Northern Virginia residents, and the rest of the Commonwealth, should all be willing to embrace. Our men and women who came back from Iraq deserve our support. I hope you will support House Bill 1041, and I thank you for your support.
